There are more than 300 international students from Ghana studying at different universities and faculties in Belarus, and more applications for the 2023 intake are in process.

Belarus always accepts Ghanaian students at all faculties and at water management faculties too, because the academic record of Ghanaian students is brilliant in Belarus.

Water management courses are taught in Belarus after a 10-month preparatory course for Ghanaian students, and during this preparatory course, Ghanaian students learn the Russian language like all other water management international students.

ADMISSION PROCESS IN BELARUS FOR STUDENTS FROM GHANA 

According to the admission process at any university in Belarus, students from Ghana scan their secondary school certificate and international passport copy to the email of the admission office (studyabroadbelarus@gmail.com) for an eligibility assessment, and this assessment takes 1-2 days.

Once the assessment is done, an eligibility or ineligibility letter is scanned for the applicant. If found eligible, the applicant transfers the official study invitation and OK TO BOARD processing fee. Processing time takes two weeks, and after two weeks, admission documents are sent to the applicant, and then he or she may depart from the Accra International Airport. Our staff receives the student’s reception documents for immigration at Minsk International Airport.

In other European countries, admissions are confirmed by the colleges and universities, but in Belarus, invitations and admissions are confirmed by the Migration Department of Belarus for international students, not by the colleges and universities.

Students from Ghana pay the visa fee of 110$ at the immigration counter, and the visa is pasted into their international passport.

GHANAIAN STUDENTS IN BELARUS FROM DIFFERENT CITIES OF GHANA

Most of the Ghanaian international students in Belarus come from the capital city of Accra and join different medical or engineering universities working under the state of Belarus.

There is no Belarus Embassy in Ghana, so these international Ghanaian students, after admission, receive an official study invitation from the migration department and are OK to board for departure from Accra International Airport. They are issued a Belarus visa on arrival at Minsk International Airport.

In Belarus, at all state universities, Ghanaian students from Accra have a good presence, and their numbers are increasing every year.

The second largest city in Ghana is Kumasi, and from Kumasi, many medical and engineering international Ghanaian students join different educational courses in Belarus at different state universities.

Kumasi residents also fall under the same admission criteria in Belarus as other African students.

There is no Embassy of Belarus in Ghana, as mentioned above, international students from Ghana are issued their Belarus visa at Minsk International Airport, provided they have with them a study invitation from Belarus and an OK TO BOARD.

No matter from which city in Ghana these Ghanaian international students come to Belarus, they always prefer to study their courses with English as the medium of instruction.

The third-most populated city in Ghana is Tamale, and a few Ghanaian international students every year from Tamale join their different degree programs in Belarus and study at state universities.

Tamale residents in Ghana, after admission, travel to Belarus with an on- arrival visa like all other Ghanaian foreign students coming to Belarus.

Tamale residents once admitted traveling to Accra for their departure, as there is an international airport in Accra called Kotoka International Airport.

At present, in Belarus, tamale students do not have a huge presence because the population in Tamale is low, but hopefully in the future, their numbers will increase in Belarus.

The fourth-most populated city in Ghana is Takoradi, from where Ghanaian students travel to Belarus for their higher education at different state universities.

Takoradi is a low-populated city in Ghana, so the numbers of Ghanaian international students coming to Belarus are not that high every year, but in the future their numbers will increase, hopefully.

No matter from which city these international Ghanaian students come to Belarus, they are brilliant at their studies, and for this reason, Belarus warmly welcomes them at its state universities.

Ghanaian students from any city may apply for admission with the same educational qualification that all Ghanaian international students use to come to Belarus for their higher education at an affordable tuition fee.

Once you have received the admission process details and can afford your higher education abroad, you may scan your documents for admission eligibility assessment in the email from the admission office.

 

3:Which documents from Ghana do I have to send for my admission to medical, engineering, or social science courses?

From Ghana, applicants apply for all courses, as education matters a lot in Ghana.

Suppose you want to study a general medicine course in Belarus, then you should scan your secondary school certificate copy with a travel passport copy for assessment.

You must have studied in Ghana science subjects for admission.

For pharmacy, nursing, and dentistry, admission requirements are almost the same for Ghanaian students.

If you want to study any engineering course in Belarus from Ghana, then you have to send a copy of your secondary school certificate, and you should have studied mathematics and physics in Ghana; this requirement is for undergraduate studies.

If you want to study masters in engineering, then you must also scan your bachelor’s degree for admission assessment.

For PhD education in Belarus, you must hold a master’s degree.

4:After scanning my documents to the admission office in Belarus, how many days will I wait for the admission result?

Once your documents for assessment are received, it takes 2 days for the admissions assessment, and you are informed about the assessment results by email.

5:What should I do once I have been found eligible for my higher education in Belarus?

If you are found eligible for your desired course, then you will send the processing fee and scan the receipt to admissions staff.

6:What should I wait for once I have sent admission charges from Ghana?

Once your admission fee is received, your admission documents are sent to the migration department for the issuance of an official study invitation, which takes 2 weeks to be issued.

Once issued, an official study invitation is sent to you in Ghana.

7:Where will I obtain my Belarus student visa once I am admitted and have an official study invitation approved by the migration department?

Once you have received your study invitation in Ghana, you will buy the return air ticket and scan it at the admission office. Once the return air ticket is received, your OK TO BOARD is processed at the Minsk International Airport Immigration Office, and within 2-3 days, your OK TO BOARD is issued for your immigration at Kotoka International Airport.

You may depart now from Accra, and a Belarus study visa is pasted in your international passport at Minsk International Airport.

Admission office staff members will receive you at Minsk International Airport with reception documents for immigration and manage your lectures and accommodation in Belarus.
